School Construction

Loudoun County is experiencing tremendous growth. As a result the school board is projecting that a number of new schools will need to be built in the next five years. According to the LCPS Capital Improvements Program, the following schools are planned for Western Loudoun County:

  • An elementary school, ES-4, to be opened in Fall 2007. ES-4 will be located on the same site as Harmony Intermediate School. The attendance boundaries for both Round Hill Elementary and Mountain View Elementary will be reconsidered with the opening of ES-4. (Planning analysis). This project is slated to be funded during FY2006 (July 1, 2005-June 30, 2006).
  • An additional elementary school, ES-25, to be opened in the Fall of 2009. The location has not yet been determined. (Planning analysis). The land purchase is expected to be funded during FY2006 (July 1, 2005-June 30, 2006); the project is slated to be funded during FY 2008 (July 1, 2007-June 30, 2008).
