second step of the nomination process and has planned a public
information session for Thursday, April 19 at 7 p.m.

The State Review Board evaluation team gave the Round
Hill Historic District a favorable rating. The next step is for the
Town to decide to pursue nomination status. |

The National Register
Evaluation Team of the state of Virginia's Department of Historic
Resources deemed the Town meets the eligibility requirements for
inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia
Landmarks Register. The staff's recommendation is scheduled to be
reviewed by the State Review Board on September 10. |

On behalf of the Town,
Susan Berry Hill of the County planner's office submitted a completed
Preliminary Information Form (PIF) to the Winchester Regional
Preservation Office. The PIF was then forwarded to the state
Department of Historic Resources. |
