Stormwater Management Study

The Town of Round Hill has contracted with Draper Aden Associates to create a Stormwater Master Plan for the town.

Action to Date
10/6/05 The Town Council voted to adopt the Stormwater Management Plan.
10/7/04 Don Rissmeyer presented a prioritized 16-step stormwater management plan to the Town Council during the regular Town Council meeting. The plan attempts to suggest affordable solutions to problem areas and does not necessarily include dressed-up streetscape elements, which will add to the expense. Copies of the plan are available via the links below, on the Town website (www.roundhillva.org) or at the Town Office. The Town Council's comments on the plan will be incorporated into the plan's final draft; the Town Council expects to vote on the plan within a month and then proceed to implementation phases.
9/2/04 Copies of the stormwater master plan, remedial action plan and report summary are available online and in hard copy at Town Hall for viewing by Town residents. Consultant Don Rissmeyer is scheduled to present the plan at the Town Council meeting on Sept. 16.
7/15/04 Don Rissmeyer of Draper Aden Associates reported to the Town Council on the progress his firm has made on Round Hill's stormwater management study. The project has three steps: assess current drainage situation and identify problem areas, generate possible solutions to these problems, and make recommendations for solutions. Rissmeyer stated that step one has been completed and he expects to have a draft report identifying possible solutions available shortly. He has agreed to hold a public input session to present these solution scenarios to the Town on July 29. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Office.
5/15/04 The consultants, Draper Aden Associates, submitted a "project formulation report" as the first step in creating a stormwater master plan for the Town of Round Hill.
4/28/04 Draper Aden conducted a public input session in which citizens were invited to stop by the Town Office to voice concerns about stormwater management issues in and around Town. A survey was sent out in advance of this input session asking citizens to identify and describe drainage or flooding problems. Approximately three dozen surveys were returned.
3/18/04 Town Council member John Heyner reported during the council meeting that he has requested a project plan and list of deliverables from Draper Aden and that the project is scheduled to begin April 1.
