Round Hill Down Hill Derby

North Locust Street

4 p.m.

The Round Hill Downhill Derby is an unofficial, unsanctioned soapbox derby style race. The rules are looser and the cars are creative and the kids just have fun! Additional heats will be run for scooters and skateboards too.

The Round Hill - Down Hill Derby is a once-a-year opportunity for you to race down a closed off street course in The Town of Round Hill! Racers will run multiple heat races and ribbons will be awarded for fastest runs. We may have a run-off to determine the King or Queen of the Hill for each vehicle class!

Cars will be on display at the Town Park prior to the race and ballots will be cast for the "Best in Show."

Rain Site: In the event of rain, this event will be cancelled to ensure the safety of the participants.

Registration Form and Rules
The races are open to pre-registered drivers up to 17 years old riding any non-powered scooters, skateboards, or “Derby Cars” who can safely operate their vehicle down the course. All racers are required to attend the Drivers' Meeting, to be held at 3 p.m. the day of the race at the starting line (the intersection of N. Locust and High Streets).

Your Down Hill Derby car must comply with the published design specifications and rules of the Derby that can be picked up at the Town Offices or printed off from the links below.

Register early at the Town Office or the day of the race at the Derby table in the parking lot of the Patterson Building. Entry fee is $5.
