The Round Hill
Downhill Derby is an unofficial, unsanctioned soapbox derby style race.
The rules are looser and the cars are creative and the kids just have fun!
Additional heats will be run for scooters too.
The Round Hill - Down Hill Derby is a once-a-year opportunity for you
to race down a closed off street course in The Town of Round Hill! Racers
will run multiple heat races and ribbons will be awarded to all
participants. First, second and third place medals will be awarded for the
following categories:
Scooters: 10 and under; above 10
Derby Cars: Each car will take two runs. The car with the third best
average time from the two races will be awarded third place medal. Top two
average times will race again for first and second place. Second place
receives a medal; first place a trophy.
Cars will be on display at the Town Park prior to the race
and ballots will be cast for the "Best in Show" and "Best Newcomer."
Cars need to be dropped across at the Town Park by 10 a.m. on the day of
the Festival to be considered for these awards.
Rain Site
In the event of rain, this event will be
cancelled to ensure the safety of the participants.
